Session Fees

The fees below are the clinic’s current rates, effective September 2026:

Couples sessions are currently offered in person at the Meadowvale office in Mississauga. In-home psychotherapy is available in Mississauga and select surrounding areas of the GTA, subject to therapist availability and travel considerations. The fee for your specific appointment is always shown when you book through Jane, the clinic’s online booking system. Insurance and Extended Health Benefits

We directly bill with most insurance providers — please give us a call to inquire about your specific insurance policy. Coverage still varies from plan to plan, and even between two plans with the same insurer, so it is worth knowing what to ask. When you call or check your plan details online, ask specifically whether it covers services from a “Registered Psychotherapist” — this is the exact professional title your insurer will look for, and it is Ahmad Shihab’s current registration category with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Ask your provider whether your plan covers this designation and what limits apply, so you know what to expect before your first session.

Is Psychotherapy Covered by OHIP?

Generally, no. OHIP, Ontario’s provincial health insurance plan, covers services delivered by physicians and within hospitals and certain other publicly funded settings. According to Ontario’s official overview of what OHIP covers, psychotherapy or counselling sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist in private practice — such as sessions at Serenity Psychotherapy Clinic — are not among the services listed as OHIP-covered. This is a general statement about how OHIP is structured, not a comment on any individual’s specific situation, so if you have questions about your own coverage, OHIP’s own information channels are the best source.

Payment and Receipts

Payment for sessions is handled through the clinic’s online booking system. If your insurer requires a receipt, or you have questions about payment methods, contact the clinic before your first session and we will go through the details with you.

Cancellation Policy

We kindly require at least 24 hours’ notice for all appointment cancellations or rescheduling requests. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as no-shows, will be subject to the full session fee. If something unavoidable comes up, contact us as early as you can.
